Congrats are in order to the world’s biggest Boy Band! BTS became the only all–South Korean band to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart EVER. This is on top of their recent achievement of having their “Dynamite” video hit 101.1 million views the same day – a YouTube record!
According to Billboard, “Dynamite” hit 33.9 million U.S. streams and 300,000 sales in its first week and that it’s the biggest digital sales week since September 2017 when Taylor Swift sold 353,000 units for “Look What You Made Me Do.”
Band member Jimin is quoted as thanking the BTS ARMY by saying “I can’t think straight, but this is your achievement and you should be congratulated. I hope you’re feeling as happy. Thank you and thank you again.”
